Rawai’s Dependable Boat Noodles
It’s safe to say that we all have that one, go-to restaurant where everything on the menu is tasty and it’s always consistent. For locals, tourists, and expats alike in the south of Phuket, that restaurant is Rawai Boat Noodles.
Don’t let the name fool you, although they do serve up a mean bowl of beef or chicken noodle soup (boat noodles), it’s hard to go wrong ordering anything from the well-rounded Halal menu. That being said, challenge yourself to find a beef massaman curry that rivals their thick-sauced delicacy laden with exotic herbs and slow-cooked to perfection. With big chunks of tender, lean beef and potatoes, this hearty dish will keep you going for hours.
Other recommended dishes include the pla phad cha (pan fried fish with basil, fresh peppercorns, and chillies, khao phad sapparot (pineapple fried rice), and beef rib soup. The service is fast and attentive and the friendly owner is always milling around, cracking jokes.
