Stroll Through History
Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia

Although more prominently known as Little India, due to the huge number of traditional Indian shops and restaurants in the area, Brickfields boasts a charm of its own. The neighbourhood is steep in history and represents an important cornerstone of Kuala Lumpur’s well storied past.

The area was formerly a brick-making centre in the 19th century before it became the main locomotive hub for the country in the late 1800s. But overtime, its prominence grew for being one of the first Indian settlements in Kuala Lumpur.

Visitors to the city can discover more about this multi-faceted neighbourhood and explore the numerous houses of worship here with the Brickfields Walking Tour. Conducted by the Kuala Lumpur City Hall, this engaging, yet casual tour delivers a new perspective to this unique neighbourhood.
