They Laugh Louder in Brazil
If you’re hunting for rainbow eye-candy colour for your latest Instagram masterpiece, head to the Brazilian restaurant Uma Nota. Inside, taste buds are teased and tickled with bold Latin American flavours, but the mural outside is nothing short of a sensual assault. The work of French street artist Elsa Jean du Dieu, the 8-foot woman greets diners with a raucous belly laugh, a taste of the relaxed atmosphere awaiting them within the walls of this Peel Street eatery.
Uma Nota is a “boteco” or Brazilian neighbourhood bar, lifted straight from the carnival streets of Rio. From an extensive caipirinha cocktail menu to perfectly executed ceviche, the tropical tastes of this Latin hideaway are right on point. Even better, they’ve just started offering a lunch menu, which includes a salad bar, an entrée, a dessert and drink, starting from just HK$95.
