Hong Kong | 17 – 31 Jan 2018
Hong Kong will be one of the key stopovers for the world’s toughest sailing race this January. After tackling the Southern Ocean from Cape Town to Melbourne and sailing nearly 6,000 miles, Hong Kong will provide a much needed reprieve for participants of the Volvo Ocean Race.
As the yachts dock at the Royal Hong Kong Yacht Club, the festivities will kick off with entertainment and reverlry at the Kai Tak Runway Park. From 17 to 31 January, the race festival will see the venue transformed into an entertainment hub with food stalks and bars with sailing races, live music by DJs and performances being held. The fest will culminate in the flag off for Leg 5 of the race as the sailors make their way towards Guangzhou on 1 February.
