Neon Dreams and Plastic Toys
Hong Kong | Now – 30 June 2026
A kaleidoscope of visions unfolds at “Pop Unboxed” at the Hong Kong Cultural Centre Piazza, transforming pop culture into an immersive, interactive, open-air spectacle. Co-curated by the Hong Kong Design Institute, the installation features four themed displays exploring music, fashion, film and collectibles. Expect a playful reimagining of the popular Chinese folktale “Ten Brothers” with designer art toys, recreated neon-lit streets and avant-garde fashion that blurs fantasy and reality. A striking music showcase bridges generations, pairing vintage vinyl with a singer’s digital presence.
As part of the wider Hong Kong Pop Culture Festival 2026, the exhibition celebrates the city’s ever-evolving creative pulse, where heritage meets reinvention and imagination spills vividly into public space.
