When Time Stretches
Bangkok | Now – 16 Aug 2026
First conceived as Thailand’s display at South Korea’s Cheongju Craft Biennale, this extraordinary exhibition has found its final home at the Jim Thompson Art Center. Curated by Gridthiya Gaweewong and Angkrit Ajchariyasophon, the expo explores how time in Southeast Asia moves in cycles – shpaed by ritual, labour and communal memory. Installations, textiles, video and art objects created by more than two dozen Thai contemporary artists and craftspeople showcase a gentle but powerful resistance to modern speed and commodification. An invitation to slow down and reconnect, this fascinating exhibition deserves a free, unhurried afternoon. Admission is free.
