All about the Money
Phnom Penh

The National Bank of Cambodia’s Preah Srey Icanavarman Museum, aka the Museum of Economy and Money (SOSORO), was set up to chronicle the country’s economic and monetary history. Unveiling the 2,000-year-old story of Cambodian cash, it offers visitors a unique perspective to understand the links between money, economy and politics and their roles in shaping the country.

The museum is divided into 12 sections featuring large display cases and multimedia presentations that highlight this rich history. Three newly renovated halls also provide deeper insights into the kingdom’s past, portraying how its currency, credit, growth and inflation helped to achieve independence and sovereignty. 16, Preah Moha Ksatreiyani Kossamak Avenue, Sangkat Wat Phnom; open Tuesday- Sunday 9am to 6pm; sosoro.nbc.org.kh
