The thwack of running shoes on paved mountain roads will break the pre-dawn quiet of Mae Rim on July 5, marking the highly anticipated return of the Chiang Mai International Half Marathon 2026. Winding through the tranquil, tree-lined roads of the 7th Infantry Division just north of the city, this annual event features 21km, 10km and 5.5km courses, welcoming both experienced and casual runners.
Flagged off from 4am, runners glide through crisp mountain air as the sun rises over the surrounding peaks. With entry limited to 1,500 participants, this race remains a much-loved highlight on northern Thailand’s sporting calendar.
