Winter in Hong Kong is signalled not by snow, but by light. The city glows from skyline to street level, as installations and illuminated facades turn Victoria Harbour, Tsim Sha Tsui, and Central into a canvas of light and colour. This year, WinterFest conjures up Christmas Town with pop-ups at PMQ and live music spilling onto the harbour promenades. Cafés in Soho and Wan Chai brim with limited-edition treats, while street performers enliven the Star Ferry piers and Avenue of Stars. As midnight strikes on New Year’s Eve, fireworks light up the skyline above Victoria Harbour – a dazzling tribute to a city that shines brightest in winter.
