Art of the Cloud
Hong Kong
A.A. Murakami, a Tokyo and London-based artist duo, are showcasing their distinctive vision through immersive installations at M+, a leading contemporary visual culture museum in Hong Kong. Comprised of Alexander Groves and Azusa Murakami, the duo presents “Floating World” – a series of interconnected immersive pieces that conjure up an otherworldly experience.
The installations take visitors on a journey through the digital realm, brought to life with physical rings of fog and floating bubble clouds. Crafted from transient materials and powered by custom-built technology, these large-scale works invite reflection on philosophical themes, including the nature of reality, artifice and digital existence.
“Floating World” further evolves A.A.Murakami’s pioneering concept of the “Art of Ephemeral Tech”, which takes art and research beyond conventional technological interfaces. The exhibition runs until February 2.
