Hong Kong marks the end of summer with the enchanting Mid-Autumn Festival, when the city is illuminated with thousands of glowing lanterns and public spaces become open-air galleries bathed in moonlight. The celebrations begin with captivating light installations at the Hong Kong Cultural Centre Piazza, telling the story of this centuries-old tradition through colour, light and masterful craftsmanship. From September 19-27, the festivities move to Victoria Park for the famous Mid-Autumn Lantern Carnival, featuring spectacular lantern displays, cultural performances and lantern-making demonstrations.
