Founded in 2000, Ock Pop Tok has grown from a small shop selling simple souvenirs into a social enterprise showcasing some of Laos’ finest handicrafts.
Ock Pop Tok (or ‘East Meets West’) aims to ensure fair trade and sustainability for textile weavers and other local artisans. It also gives them a chance to preserve their culture while earning a fair wage. The store and the Living Crafts Centre on the Mekong riverside carry items made by skilled Lao craftswomen. Visitors can also sign up for workshops.
