The Mae Taeng River offers perhaps the wildest ride in northern Thailand, hurling rafts down a rollercoaster of whitewater through lush tropical landscape. The heart-pounding rafting trips last for 10 kilometres, with relief from the stomach-churning rapids provided by serene jungle scenery.

For thrill-chasers, the seething waters and tricky Class III and IV rapids demand swift action and decisive manoeuvres. The whitewater frenzy is punctuated by moments of calm as the river meanders tranquilly through dense foliage amid bird calls and rustling leaves. As the adventure winds down, the rapids gradually subside allowing rafters to drift relaxed to the finishing point.
