To celebrate 60 years of diplomatic ties between China and France, the Hong Kong Palace Museum (HKPM) has partnered with the prestigious Musée des Arts Décoratifs in Paris to present “The Adorned Body: French Fashion and Jewellery 1770-1910”.

This breathtaking exhibition features hundreds of items of clothing, jewellery and accessories dating from the late 18th to the early 20th century.

The prestigious Paris museum is unveiling its comprehensive collection of historical French fashionwear in Asia for the first time, in one of four major exhibitions in the West Kowloon Cultural District in 2024. Spread across five zones, The Adorned Body explores the changing face of men’s and women’s fashion over nearly 150 years.

Items on display range from costumes and jewellery worn by aristocrats to haute couture and items from La Belle Epoque, Europe’s Golden Age.
